Vocational Teacher in Healthcare Subjects at Hugin, Strömbackaskolan

Strömbackaskolan is one of the two upper secondary schools in Piteå municipality with approximately 1400 students and 170 employees divided into six school units. Strömbackaskolan is located in central Piteå and offers a wide range of programs for upper secondary students. Our goal is to be a top-class school where good memories are created.

We are now looking for a vocational teacher in healthcare subjects for the Hugin school unit. In addition to the healthcare and nursing program, the school unit also offers the Natural Science and Technology programs, and we have a total of 30 educators and guidance counselors. The goal of the school unit is for each student to develop as far as possible based on their conditions and needs. This is achieved through a developing learning environment, appropriate teaching materials, and a relationship-building approach.

Responsibilities

Teaching healthcare subjects for upper secondary students in the Healthcare and Nursing program at the Hugin school unit, Strömbackaskolan. The position includes mentorship and workplace visits when students are out on practical training (APL). You should be prepared to teach all healthcare subjects, such as anatomy and nursing. Collaborating across subject boundaries and within the entire team is an important part of the assignment.

Qualifications

We are primarily looking for someone with a vocational teacher education or equivalent in healthcare and nursing. If you do not have a vocational teacher education, it is important that you have experience in the healthcare profession and are interested in working with young people.

You should be open to varying working methods, collaboration, and school development. Additionally, you have good pedagogical insights. As a person, you are clear, engaged, flexible, and have excellent collaboration skills. You are willing to share ideas and contribute to the development of the organization. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

Employment

The position is a permanent employment, seasonal employment starting on 2026-02-01. A criminal record extract must be presented before employment.
